Painting with Words

Imagine, Explore, Inspire

To the man on the street…remembering

Passing By

Coat crusted and threadbare

Frame slight

Hair long and matted

Face angular

Car stalled

He paused to offer advice

Driver agitated

He passed on

I watched

His

Sapphire blue eyes

Radiated from within

A treasure chest of wisdom

Rounding the corner

Shoulders arched against the wind

Lost in time

He passed on

I remember

To the man on the street            - God speed and blessing this holiday season

Sacred Fire - the alchemy

 Sacred Fire heal me

Let your flame swirl and spiral round my body

Consume my pain

Sacred Fire warm me

Keep me protected from the cold

As you feed on wood from ancient days

Sacred Fire

Ignite in me passions

Buried deep for eons of time......

Why?

We stand at the dooway to freedom

We stand at the doorway to peace

Yet we bomb

We kill and

We plunder and

Wonder why

We don't find what we seek.

Fruit of the Vine

Fruit of the vine

Rich liquid of red

Aged with tender care

Flows from vats of ancient oak

Bottled, corked, served

To embellish palates

Enriching experiences

Deepening connections

Sharing love

This fruit of the vine

Wine

A Poem

A poem unlocks with golden key

our feelings deep inside

opening hidden doors

we close

the thoughts we try to hide

The words

they are the glue that binds

the message to the page

giving vision, depth and feeling

like shrieking purple rage

The themes unfurl

as the page unscrolls

and we travel through its lines

revealing to the world outside

those thought we tried to hide

Wise Ones - Remembering Their Story

There Was a Time When the Wise Ones

There was a time
When families helped each other
Built barns and fences
Shared joys and sorrows
Now it is hired out and
The cost is high

There was a time
When elders shared their wisdom
Taught from experiences and challenges
Now we have experts hawking their wares
They know more and the cost is high

There was a time
When children walked in the world of the elders
They watched them in their daily tasks
Now it is through books or MBA's they learn and
The cost is high

Do we honor the wisdom of our families, our elders
No for they grew up w/o TV or computers
They played in the woods, grew their food,
Watched eagles fly and meandered along streams
What do they know of the world and
The cost is high

Words Have Rhyme and Rythm

“Words they are an interesting study.  I found from hearing poetry read in a native tongue, which I could not translate, the message carried in the "energy" of the rhyme and rhythm of the words...when translated it lost the magic.”

Joined - A Poem

JOINED

Heart beat of man
pounding - yet
unheard
joined
becomes the
beat of a nation.

Words of man
written - yet
unread
joined
becomes a
proclamation.

Sounds of man
spoken - yet
unheard
joined
becomes a
production .

Lines of man
drawn - yet
unrecognized
joined
becomes an
illustration.

Beings of man
humming - yet
forgotten
joined
becomes a
celebration.

Patterns of man
created - yet
invisible
joined
becomes a
new universe.

Joined
we become
recognized.

Ocean Heal Me

Ocean heal my wounds

Let your waves curl and foam on my body

Wash away blood, heal scars

Ocean renew me with your power

As unceasingly you roll

Giving strength that’s been drained

Ocean keep me warm

Wrap me in your brine

Caress me with your tides

Ocean disperse my tears

As they flow in you

I cleanse my soul

Ocean let me grow in your depths

Color me vibrant blue, coral, green

Clear = revitalized

Ocean your spray anoints me

Cool and refreshed

My spiritual renewal

Ocean be my friend

Hold me flowing in your currents

Ever moving, ever changing

Ocean, heal me.
