This article will change your world!
I recently attended an all day workshop in which the speaker referred to the importance of an inviting office.
He said that the attitude of the support staff in a dental office reflects on the whole business.
I could not agree with him more and would go a step further in adding motivation and health to that picture.
There are many elements which effect the whole environment that makes up an office. Many look at the furniture in a backdrop of paint on the walls as the environment and that is only partially true. Let's explore these aspects over a series of postings. I will begin with color and will use the dental office he mentioned as an example.
COLOR
Let us begin with intention as we explore the backdrop and environment that color creates.
A dental office would want clients who are relaxed, comfortable and at ease as they enter into an often dreaded proceedure. The support staff will also benefit from this comfortable environment as they meet the pressures of effeciency, courtesy and service.
A soft teal, grey green or a blue blue/violet walls will bring the clients to that comfortable state. The floor soft and comfortble to walk on like cork, carpeting or great rugs on wood floors again giving the feeling of nature, natural to support them for this journey. The rugs carry the color theme in matching colors to the wall or a darker shade. Avoid using red, orange or yellow except in small accent pieces. These worm colors stimulate and at time agitate and that is not supportive to the whole environment.
The pictures on the walls reflect a similar color scheme bringing in nature to this environment. The furniture could be a variety of chairs or couch in compliamentary soft colors.
If budgets are a big consideration I would recommend a week-end paint party and only change the paint on the walls. Changing the wall colors will begin the process of change and set the intention to bring about the larger goal for an expanding, profitable and supportive practice.
