Archives of early Quack Reporting

Early on, as I began my Blogging career in 2003, I posted at a different site.  That site is still alive and well and quite colorful I must say.  I would like you to have a look at that site as there are some exceptional articles, resources and information that are not out dated.  I invite you to explore.  I plan on doing the same and eliminate non essential material.  Enjoy your journey as much as I did in writing, posting and coloring my ideas.  It is all about patterns, colors and how we live our lives.

BIOTA Water

AN ECOENTREPRENEUR with THE GREENE EDGE

What is the world's first compostable bottle?

BIOTA uses nature-based packaging from NatureWorks(tm) PLA. NatureWorks PLA is the first commercially viable packaging material derived entirely from an annually renewable resource - corn.
BIOTA is the first beverage company in the world to exclusively use NatureWorks PLA to bottle its products. BIOTA water bottles are completely compostable. They are approved and certified as commercially compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). Initial testing has demonstrated that a BIOTA water bottle will degrade within 75 to 80 days in a commercial composting situation. A traditional plastic bottle is not compostable.

Paint Your World Healthy

Getting the Greene Edge      in Your Home and Office
If you are planning to paint your office or home you may want to explore some options.  Your walls are the largest area of visual impact and will influence your clients, family and pets.
1. Color of the paint makes a major impression on the mood of the room and the people who occupy it.  It can be dramatic, calming or one complimentary to the style and view through the pane. It may even be in sharp contrast. Consider the color of the furniture, rugs and pictures in this scene.  Color can send a subliminal message to the occupants.                                               Example: If it is for a fast food restaurant, orange or coral is a great color as people move quickly through these areas and they find their appetite stimulated so they will buy more.
2. Out gassing of fumes from the paint due to the various chemical substances may challenge your health.  You will need to know what gases will be released as the paint dries.  When you paint these VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) increase from the normal 10 times higher than outdoors to 1,000 times higher. It continues long after “paint” day.  It is recommended that women who are pregnant not engage in painting projects.  With a special order you will find zero-VOC paint or check out http://www.afmsafecoat.com for more information.  Another source is to look into is the milk-based paints with a Google search.

Affirmation:
The walls of this room provides support and harmony for all

Exercise:
As you begin to select your paint and the colors consider:

  • Is it inviting, restful, stimulating or antagonistic?
  • When you or others enter this space what is the reaction and is that what you want to happen?
  • Is this an area for specific activities and will they be done efficiently (sleeping, manufacturing, shipping)?
  • Is there a contrasting color that would give the room a boost?
  • Is this paint healthy for all occupants?
