Focus these days is on the Gulf of Mexico and the toxins being dumped, spewed and invading our waters, beaches, wildlife and plants. They are creating a real tragedy for all who live and thrive along the shores and inland. It tears at my heart the impact of some major and minor oversights by designer, manufacturers and inspectors/regulators. It is too late to make those corrections. All we can do is hope those in the world of clean-up show up with some workable solutions.
We on the other side of the country and around the world say our prayers, ask for blessings for the workers and wish a solution is found quickly. It must happen soon. People with innovative ideas can tap into their data base and inspire others to find answers.
So I ask you, as you fuss and crab about BP and all its missteps, greed, mistakes, what have you done to clean up your act. What toxins are you using everyday that are spewing, invading and dumping in your yard, streets and waters? What do you spray, sprinkle and "wash" around your home, office, farm? What impact does it have on the animals and your family? Does it linger in the soil or pollute the air?
Maybe it is time for us to look in our own "backyard" and ask the "hard" questions. How are the products sprayed on our school yards, parks and meridians impacting our health similar to the Gulf tragedy?
Check under your sinks and in your garage....read the labels...the warning labels. What did you find?
