Gulf oil spill issues challenge us to check our own toxic dump-our home or office

Focus these days is on the Gulf of Mexico and the toxins being dumped, spewed and invading our waters, beaches, wildlife and plants.  They are creating a real tragedy for all who live and thrive along the shores and inland.  It tears at my heart the impact of some major and minor oversights by designer, manufacturers and inspectors/regulators.  It is too late to make those corrections.  All we can do is hope those in the world of clean-up show up with some workable solutions.

We on the other side of the country and around the world say our prayers, ask for blessings for the workers and wish a solution is found quickly.  It must happen soon.  People with innovative ideas can tap into their data base and inspire others to find answers.

So I ask you, as you fuss and crab about BP and all its missteps, greed, mistakes, what have you done to clean up your act.  What toxins are you using everyday that are spewing, invading and dumping in your yard, streets and waters?  What do you spray, sprinkle and "wash" around your home, office, farm?  What impact does it have on the animals and your family?  Does it linger in the soil or pollute the air?

Maybe it is time for us to look in our own "backyard" and ask the "hard" questions.  How are the products sprayed on our school yards, parks and meridians impacting our health similar to the Gulf tragedy?

Check under your sinks and in your garage....read the labels...the warning labels.  What did you find?

Sapere aude! It can be translated to mean: dare to be wise, have the courage to think for yourself

Sapere aude!  dare to be wise, have the courage to think for yourself

rather than blindly accepting the opinions of authorities.  - Motto of the University of Otago, AU

Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance.

This nonage is self imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding, but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance.

Dare to know! - Philosopher Immanuel Kant from his essay "What is Enlightenment?"

We are living in a time when many need to take this attitude or motto as our everyday beingness.  In keeping with the theme of this blog it is what happens when one learns to use the pendulum.  Stimulating and trusting in your intution as you work with intentions will move you to this place of thinking for your self.  Thanks Sonie Johnson for this quote.

Shopping for the Cheapest Price May Not Be the Best Choice

Many articles these days are talking about saving money, shopping generic or getting the best buy.  I have been watching and reading many of these ideas as I always want to share good tips for healthy living.  Recently I found many good ideas for using baking soda, cucumbers and vinegar.  Some were about cleaning, health and solving problems.

Today I read about shopping generic.  Yes, I do understand the importance of saving money as one compares the name brands with the store brands.  There are many reasons for the differences in price.

1. Spices had a huge saving in generic or store brands against the "name brands".  Here are some of the reasons you will find this.  Many spices are irradiated  to extend their shelf life.  Irradiation is like microwaving the spice.  It changes its structure and remove (kills) the life force of the spice. Irradiation extends shelf life to xxx years.  Another reason is that the source of the cinnamon, oregano or basil is not the top quality on the market.  Why by second rate products for yourself and your family.  This is where you might consider getting the organic variety...then look for the cheapest in that venue.  At least you will be avoiding the pesticides, herbicides and other toxins.

2. Milk has a wide spread of pricing yet consider the source.  How well are the cows cared for?  Are they fed "good food" or recycled junk or GMO feed?  Are they treated with rBHG a hormone that is hard on the cow and increases the pus in the milk.  Pasteurized to "kill" the bad guy allowing them to "pass the health dept. tests".  What do you prefer to feed your children?  What impact will this "cheap" milk have on their bodies in the coming years?  Much of this GMO product line is sneaking into our kitchens is untested.  We have no idea how the next generation will be impacted by this breakthrough technology.  The thought of this is scary to even consider.

I could go on and on but for the moment this will give you some hint as to why buying cheap is always not the best way to shop.  Know why the food is cheaper then make an educated decision.

is Microwave Cooking Related to Obesity Issues?

`Today it doesn't matter how good the food you eat is if you cook it in the Microwave.  All "food" cooked in a microwave, in my opinion, becomes a "non-food".  I have been around for many years and learned to cook without a microwave...double boiler, sauce pan, hot water...the basics.

Using a microwave, even to heat up water, changes the "spin" and changes the structure of the food.  How and what does that do to our body.

Now we have added another element to the food chain...GMO  Wow! another "food" altering technique that is not even tested in  bodies for the long term.  Then it is cooked or processed in a microwave.  It is hard for me to now call it food.

MY Big Question:

I wonder if there is any research of the obesity and health issues related to the introduction of microwaves into the food chain.  If you know of any post your comment below.................

Second question:

Is there any research done in relation to the introduction of GMO's into the food chain and the obesity issues?   Please keep me posted.  Thanks

Building with Bacteria Heals the Desert

Tiny microorganisms and sand binds together into a organic, flowing shape creating shade, shelter and growing fields.  This Permaculture style design reminds us of ways to work with nature and the shifting sands to hold and preserve lands often lost in time.  http://www.ted.com/talks/view/id/698

I'm in Love

2010 02 21_0004
I recently moved to N. San Diego and have fallen in love with the land.  The vistas are so lush and green and this feeds my soul like it hasn't been fed in a long time.

We have had rains that are feeding the stream, the ancient trees and the animals.

The poet and the alchemist in me are observing, feeling, hearing on a new level.

I am writing and the images are strong, vivid and inspiring.

When I walk the labyrinth, the experience is connecting me to me.

I am moving forward with an intensity so different than in the past...it comes from my soul. Amazing!

I participated in a Sweat Lodge...on the outside.  Incrediable the images, sounds and healing just being in that space.  The poem from that experience is still evolving.  View my poems here.

The pictures tell it all.  I am blessed.

Classical Labyrinth Key for class May 12 & Follow up

Labyrinth Tele-Seminar Follow-Up

In yesterday’s call I forgot to mention one important factor about building a labyrinth on the land. It could be with chalk on your driveway, sand at the beach, rock/bricks/earth at your home or office ….. in all cases the labyrinth needs to be sited. What I mean by that is there needs to be a compatibility between the earth energies of your site and the labyrinth energies.

This siting is done with a pendulum or L-Rod. If you are trained in using one that is great or ask a friend. If not, I can do that for you from a map or drawing of your property.

Please do not build one with out siting it first. This is very important. Sue

When using a labyrinth have fun unwinding from the stressors of the day and begin to feel a sense of peace and harmony flow.
